Resettlement Training for the Service Leaver

Why not stay on the battlefield after you leave the military?

The UK travel industry has well established and competitive Battlefield Tour, military history, and Genealogy markets that continue to expand. Travel Operators marketing battlefield tours constantly look to recruit high quality Battlefield Guides and Tour Managers with a suitable level of organisational skills, knowledge and an understanding of military history.

Battlefield Guides are employed to lead groups from all over the world on tours of the battlefields of Western Europe, the Mediterranean and even further afield.

Many Service Leavers already have developed the ideal mix of core skills and qualities required in a Battlefield Guide and Tour Manager. Travel Operators are looking to employ guides who have the required mix of, effective delivery skills, engaging personality, life-experience and comprehensive subject knowledge. All of this coupled with an ability to prioritise and make decisions quickly.

The Travel Guide Training & Validation Company offers a series of bespoke courses and work placements specifically designed to signpost the route for service leavers to enter the travel industry. These unique courses are designed to offer the service leaver an opportunity to enhance their employment portfolio and establish an additional income stream as a Tour Manager and Battlefield Guide.

Our courses are suitable for all levels of competence, ranging from the complete novice to those with previous experience of organising or leading military battlefield studies or staff rides. You will not only learn how to deliver your story to a wide and diverse spectrum of audience types, but also how to plan and administer every aspect of a battlefield tour.

Each course is run with the individual in mind, allowing time to ask questions and assimilate important information that is particular to your needs. We limit the number of students on our courses in order to ensure that you are given a significant amount of one to one mentoring and tuition.

Students will be given the opportunity to acquire and develop the theoretical and practical skills required of the competent battlefield guide. Training will take place initially in the classroom and will then move onto one of battlefield destinations reguarly visited by the major UK and international battlefield tour operators.
