Mike Peters - Historian + Presenter

Mike has featured as a guest historian and presenter in a number of television and DVD military history programmes and films. Most recently he has worked for Lion TV on the Find my past series, acting as a subject matter expert on the Glider Pilot Regiment and the airborne landings in Normandy. Past projects have included documentary filming for schools, examining the realities of life in the trenches on the Western front during the Great War. Mike has also had regular work as a guest historian and presenter on the subject of the Napoleonic Wars and the use of Airborne Forces during World War 2.

Working with Battlefield History TV

Mike's success as an author and battlefield guide resulted in him being invited to act as a subject matter expert and presenter in a series of DVDs produced by Battlefield History TV (BHTV). Subjects have ranged from the Waterloo campaign to the the audacious glider-borne Coup de Main raid on Pegasus Bridge in June 1944. Recently he has also featured in a new series of DVDs examining the conduct of Operation Market Garden, the Allied drive to secure a crossing over the Rhine at Arnhem.

BHTV is a Broadband/Internet TV channel dedicated to all periods of history and programming genres that fit within the widest definition of ‘military history’. Launched in summer 2008, BHTV broadcasts, as view on demand (VOD), a wide variety of  specialist programmes covering subject areas that would not normally be entertained or only covered superficially by terrestrial or satellite/cable channels.

BHTV programmes, use the twenty-four hour availability of the internet,
and are growing into a unique archive of historical information and resource for
all those with an interest in military history, be they family historians, war-gamers, battlefield tourers, students of particular battles or campaigns and military modellers. Most BHTV programmes are available on DVD.
