The role of the professional Battlefield Guide is one of the most demanding in the travel industry. Battlefield guides are routinely required to deliver an engaging, accurate and authorative narrative to a consistent standard throughout every tour. In addition to the primary function of acting as a guide there are equally important associated responsibilities which may include, pre-tour planning and administration, acting as the tour manager, problem solving on tour and general customer care.
TGT+V courses are designed to introduce the potential battlefield guide to the range of skills that are required from the competent battlefield guide. The course syllabi are based on research, experience and consultation with leading tour operators. Clients attending a TGT+V course can expect to gain an understanding of the following key subjects and their importance to the battlefield guide:
All of our training courses combine a balanced mix of the theoretical and practical aspects of these core subjects and a range of other inter-linked subjects. Our policy of Individual one to one mentoring and group exercises ensures that each course is suitable for the complete novice or for those who have a degree of previous experience and wish to build on that foundation.
